280 x 185 mm. (frame 544 x 444mm.), watercolour, SIGNED AND DATED BY THE ARTIST IN CARTOUCHE IN LOWER RIGHT ("07"), mounted, framed and glazed


This illustration shows how Dulac would re-use elements of his drawings, using tracing papers to reverse and turn his figures to achieve a balanced composition. The young girl featured here can also be seen in earlier works including The Dream Vendor (exhibited at the London Sketch Club, 1906), which was modified for use in My Days with the Fairies, and in 1907 modified again to become The Girl with the Crystal Ball.
