The Nativity: diameter 158mm, (frame 410 x 338mm.), and study diameter, 153mm, (frame 370 x 332mm.), watercolour and gouache, SIGNED AND DATED BY THE ARTIST ("44"), framed and glazed separately
This scene was produced for the Girl Guides Association Christmas card in 1944. Dulac gifted the gouache of the nativity to his friend the American artist Henry Winslow (1875-1953), who let Dulac and Helen stay in his house in St John's Wood after they found their studio at Ladbroke Road flooded after the war.
