After Jean-Michel Basquiat left the Annina Nosei Gallery in 1982, Bruno Bischofberger became his worldwide representative and dealer. Bischofberger formed a close bond with the artist, sometimes even allowing him to create works in his home. As Basquiat's popularity grew, he had six solo exhibitions at the Zurich-based Gallery Bruno Bischofberger. The show that the present lot commemorates took place from 19 January to 16 February 1985.
Signed books by Basquiat are uncommon.
