of globular form moulded with overlapping cabbage leaves, the cylindrical neck with a painted triangular mask spout, the pale-yellow ground reserving three puce-scroll edged panels of printed scenes picked out in colours, 'The Milkmaids', 'Rural Lovers' and 'The Milking Scene', flanked by flower sprigs and moths, the neck painted with a band of flowers

A second jug of this type, purchased by Lady Charlotte Schreiber from Button, London, for £20 in July 1884 is now in the Victoria & Albert Museum, London, acc. no. 414:541-1885.
