"Sir Winston Churchill the painter has always been true to his artistic self. His instinctive courage, his dauntless energies and his vigorous attack have given inspiration to his art and have found expression on canvases which, though of necessity coming from the studio of an amateur, are often nevertheless the envy of many in the profession. In his best works Sir Winston reveals not only a skill of hand but, which is much rarer, a selective eye. It is this quality of vision which raises the majority of his exhibits here above any ordinary level and hints to us of a fame which would almost certainly have come his way if his life had been exclusively devoted to Art.
