the four-armed fragmentary male figure wearing a sampot tied at the waist with a long overhanging fold of cloth at the navel and overlapping loops of cloth on the left thigh

The long slim legs and shortened torso, and the elegantly draped cloth around the waist are characteristics of eleventh century Baphuon style sculpture, cf. an eleventh century sandstone four-armed male deity in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, in Steven Kossak, The Arts of South and Southeast Asia, New York, 1994, cat. no 87.
