each moulded to the centre with nine evenly-spaced medallions, each enclosing a floral sprig, against a ground of elaborately painted and gilt scrolling peony blossoms, enclosed by a narrow band of stylised scroll to the well and a further band of scrolling foliage to the rim, the reverse rendered with the stylised floral motifs in iron red
