A rare large pagoda-form incense burner

Late Ming-early Qing period, 17th century


cast in the form of a tall pagoda with a three-tiered roof set with dragon gargoyles suspending bells, beneath a tall bulbous apex and supported on a hexagonal base, detailed with a boy kneeling in front of the gate on top of the staircase while another boys stands on one of the roofs, inscribed with an apocryphal Da Ming Xuande nian zao mark
