42 by 58cm., 16½ by 22⅞in.
Admitted to the Académie de Saint-Luc in May 1758, Barthélemy-Dominique Hermant was mainly active in Saint-Omer, his hometown, where he opened a free school of drawing and sculpture in 1767.
This relief could be an allegory of Autumn, from a series on the Four Seasons, or represent the childhood of Bacchus.
