The reference 5738 was first introduced in 2008 to celebrate the 40^th Anniversary of the celebrated Ellipse. The watch features a blued gold dial and the automatic caliber 240. The Ellipse design was inspired by the principle of the “golden section” discovered by the ancient Greek mathematicians. This “divine” proportion, expressed as a ratio of 1 / 1.6181, forms the basis of some of history's greatest works of art and architecture.
