Double-Handled Pharmacy Jar from the Santa Maria Nuova Series (Zaffera Jar


decorated a zaffera (including oak leaves with sinuous stems accompanied by small freehand dark blue strokes and tendrils in slight relief), a frieze of leaves is separated by purple lines around the neck. One handle is painted with a crutch (gruccia) in purple and green with a black border; the other, is painted with two blue crosses interspersed with horizontal lines in purple.


The mark of the workshop of Giunta di Tugio with a five-pointed asterisk with dots at the ends of terminals is at the bottom of one handle
