Lydia Glebova was one of five principle dancers who presented Les Roses at the Coliseum for two weeks, opening on 22 September 1924 with music by Henri Sauguet commissioned by Comte Etienne de Beaumont. The costume designed by Knight for Lydia appears hanging against the wall in the large and elaborate drawing Ballerina Getting Dressed (Kaye Michie Fine Art). Her design for the costumes worn by the eight corps de ballet and for Lydia Glebova, demonstrate her ability to capture dancers in movement.
These pictures will be included in the Catalogue Raisonné on the artist's works, currently being compiled by Mr R. John Croft FCA, the artist's great nephew.
