The Patek Philippe reference 3448 is highly popular and represents the very first automatic perpetual calendar produced in a series. It was first introduced in 1962 and discontinued in 1980. There are subtle differences that make this reference highly desirable and the present example is no exception.
Fresh to the market and made in 1970, the dial features a hard enamel signature, hard enamel date indication and pearled minute divisions, which can only be found on the earlier examples. Furthermore, the case is retained in very crisp and appealing condition. The edges are sharp to the touch, the lugs are nice and faceted and the hallmarks underneath the lugs are very crisp and easy to see.
