In 1969, Rolex concurrently launched reference 6263 and 6265, replacing the first ever Oyster Cosmograph Daytona reference 6240. Produced for nearly 20 years, the reference 6263 is easily distinguished by its acrylic tachometer bezel and screw down pushers.
The reference 6263 is the last Daytona made with a manual-winding Valjoux movement and one of the most desirable vintage Daytona models. Its rugged appearance featuring screw-down pushers, which increase water resistance (and garner the watch the 'Oyster' designation), and the black acrylic bezel featuring a tachymeter track make it exceedingly attractive to collectors.
