Cartier is a manufacture synonymous with glamour and elegance, creating daring jewels and timepieces inspired by the world’s greatest wonders. While often associated to the Tank, the manufacture produced a plethora of unique case designs in the mid-century, and the present lot is a celebration of this experimental time.

Properly named for its resemblance to a ship’s steering wheel, the Helm's case features two concentric circles linked by balls, as seen here, or sometimes cylinders or batons at the quarter hours. The present lot is presented in well preserved condition with Cartier case numbers crisp and legible to the snap-on case back.
