These fascinating sheets, executed in pen and brown ink, consist of studies, plans and scale indications relating to frescoes painted in Palazzo Pisani - De Lazara in Padua in 1784. Two of the sheets are inscribed, in pen and ink: Palazzo Pisani in Padova and Sala Pisani in Padova, and all three incorporate lengthy inscriptions pertaining to the subjects of the frescoes, and giving instructions for their intended destination within the decorative scheme.
A number of the drawings illustrated are preparatory studies for the frescoes in the Salone, depicting scenes from Roman history. On the sheet numbered 23, the story of Muzio Scevola is portrayed and on the sheet numbered 22, are the designs for the upper register of the Salone, all drawn within ovals: Morte di Catone, Suicidio di Lucrezia, Orazio Coclide sul ponte Sublicio and Clelia con le sue compagne che passa a nuoto il Tevere.
