Arabic manuscript on cream paper, 193 leaves plus 9 fly-leaves, 11 lines to the page, written in naskh in black ink, ruled in gold, green, red and blue, verses separated by polychrome and gold rosettes, titles and surah headings in red or white cursive within gold and polychrome cartouches, f.2b and f.3a with an illuminated frontispiece, f.3b, f.30b, 34b and f.50b with a polychrome and gold heading (‘unwan), f.27a-29a with hilyas, illustrations of Mecca (f.49b) and Medina (f.50a), in brown gilt and stamped binding in modern leather gilt-stamped binding, with flap
