5 volumes in one, oblong 4to (c.24 x 32.5cm), engraved music, some pencil annotations, contemporary boards, small tear to pp.9/10 of first volume, slightly affecting text on p.10, light wear to binding


Schmieder (p.611) notes that Gavotte II from the third English Suite, BWV 808, was first published in 1760 by Birnstiel. The first edition of the suite as a whole was that of Hoffmeister & Kühnel in 1805; a second edition followed in 1814. Formerly in the collection of Ernst Rudorff.
