First edition of the full score of the second, revised, version of Die Loreley, EXTENSIVELY CORRECTED AND ANNOTATED BY BRUCH


Bruch's many corrections and revisions entered in the score (a lithographed Umdruck of a scribal score, Leipzig:C.F.W. Siegel, no date [1887?], 228 pages, plate number 8317, original cloth-backed boards) in brown ink and blue crayon, including three substantial autograph music revisions contained on loose leaves of manuscript paper, and an 8-page autograph list of corrections (dated "8. Oct. 87."), signed by Bruch, as well as a scribal list of errors ("Verzeichniss der Fehler...") annotated by Bruch in blue crayon, tipped in at the front


together with two editions of the vocal score: ...Die Loreley. Grosse romantische Oper in vier Acten...Vollständiger Klavierauszug vom Componisten, Breslau: F.E.C. Leuckart, no date, 214 pages, plate number F.E.C.L. 1788...(1)...(24), priced at 8 Thalers, some pencil annotations, lithographed illustrated title and wrappers, small excision to title, spine defective and gatherings detached; Die Loreley Grosse romantische Oper...Vollständiger Clavierauszug mit Text, Leipzig: F.E.C. Leuckart, no date, 214 pages, plate number F.E.C.L. 1788...(1)...(24), priced at 24 Marks, some annotations in pencil and blue crayon, publisher's illustrated wrappers, splitting at joints 


First performed in 1863, in four-act form, Bruch's score was revised in 1887 for performances in Leipzig, in 3-act form, by the young Gustav Mahler.
