A jewelled gold, enamel and ivory Art Deco vanity case, New York, circa 1925, retailed by Saks Fifth Avenue, 

of upright rectangular form with rounded corners, the polished gold ground striped in black enamel, the front centred with a geometrical rose-cut diamond-set ornament on a black enamel ground, the a band of tiny rose-cut diamonds along the top and bottom, the sliding interior containing a hinged mirrored lid, opening to reveal a gold lipstick holder and a small power compartment, as well as gold-mounted ivory writing slips, the top fitted with a gold pencil holder with a black onyx cabochon finial, partially rubbed retailer’s inscription: Saks Fifth Avenue, the pencil holder struck 14 ct,
