4to (190 x 138mm.), 42 leaves, a-d8 e6 f4, 26 lines, roman type, woodcut initials, eighteenth-century marbled calf, occasional staining


First edition. Tegrimi, a politician from Lucca, undertook several diplomatic missions across Italy on behalf of the state of Lucca. This is his most renowned work, a biography in Latin of his fellow Lucchese, the condottiere Castruccio Castracani, though Machiavelli's later version is now better known.
