Chancery folio (304 x 208mm.), 142 leaves, AA-RR8 SS6, double column, 65 lines plus headline, gothic type, woodcut initials, woodcut printer's device below register, a few old manuscript annotations in text (some shaved) and on final verso, old vellum, occasional light staining, binding repaired with new endleaves


Michele Savonarola (c. 1385-1466) studied and worked in Padua and Ferrara, as physician to the ruling Este family. This is the first collected edition of several of his medical works, covering fevers, the pulse, urine, bowel movements, baths and intestinal worms. He based much of his work on Avicenna.
