An uchidashi [repoussé] rokumai-do [six-piece cuirass] and jingasa [war hat]

Edo period, 17th – 18th century

 

the iron cuirass hinged in six pieces, hammered, chased and engraved with a three-clawed dragon emerging from swirling clouds, copper-gilt fittings, seven tassets of black lacquered five-tiered kusazuri with close-spaced lacing in green braid

 

the russet iron jingasa, hammered and chased with a further large three-clawed dragon among clouds, red lacquer interior
