Beginning in 1992, Montblanc has dedicated a limited edition series of writing instruments to great writers of literature called the "Writers Edition". For over two and a half decades, each year the firm pays tribute to a writer that has influenced our society with their works. Each piece within the set is inspired by the authors themselves.

The present set made to commemorate Jules Verne, a French writer and novelist. Verne is most famous for his book 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, which was originally published in June of 1870. As a way to pay tribute to his most recognizable work, Montblanc decorated the set of pens with a wonderful guilloche design beneath a vibrant blue lacquer. The limited edition set is accompanied by its original presentation box, outer packaging and Jonathan Swift instruction manual booklet.
