Fleming travelled on the Orient Express and attended an Interpol Conference in September 1956, where he gathered material for From Russia, With Love.
Percy Muir was a bookseller and bibliography. He introduced Fleming to book collecting and together they assembled his library. They were members of the 'Biblio-boys' along with John Hayward and John Carter, an informal club which met monthly to discuss rare books over supper. From this was born the Book Collector, in 1952, which Fleming managed and Muir was on the editorial board. In On Her Majesty's Secret Service, Fleming included a character called Alexander Muir. Fleming was godfather to Muir's daughter, Helen.
