the first, Paris, 1780-1789, with an octagonal section, both sides with keyhole-shaped dark blue enamel cartouches decorated with paillon trophies of love on a polished gold ground, further paillon borders, discharge mark of Henri Clavel,

Height 4 1/2 in., 10.9 cm;

the second, decorated with dark blue enamel with gold paillon stars, framed by colourfully-enamelled floral borders, apparently unmarked but probably Paris, height 4 3/8. in., 11.1 cm;

the third, Paris, 1779, the tapering engine-turned body decorated with bead borders, the matrix engraved with a marriage coat-of-arms, Paris date letter,

the fourth, Paris, 1787, decorated with flowers and pellets on a reeded ground, chased foliate border, the matrix engraved with initials RI, Paris date letter, second discharge mark of Henri Clavel (1782-1789),

height 5 in., 12.7 cm;

the fifth, Paris, 1780-1782, the polished sides decorated with two-coloured gold chased leafy borders and a sunflower to the top of the lid, the matrix engraved with a marriage coat-of-arms below coronet, first discharge mark of Henri Clavel (1780-1782),
