Conditions of Business for Buyers (English)

Registration Disclaimer:

Payment must be received from a bank account or payment card held in the same name as the Sotheby’s bidder account. Please select the bid account that will be used to remit payment for any property you successfully bid on. Sotheby’s reserves the right to decline to rebill purchases to an alternative account after a sale is completed.

United States Clients:

If you are a reseller using a resale certificate to purchase property that is intended for resale, you must register the account associated with the name that appears in the purchaser field of the resale certificate.

EU Import Regulation

As of 28 June 2025, lots in this auction that are of non-EU origin, of a certain age and, in some categories, above a certain value may be subject to additional requirements for import into the European Union. Bidders are advised to make their own enquiries and to obtain independent advice to determine whether these additional requirements apply to a given lot before bidding. It is the Buyer's responsibility to apply for any required export or import licence or permit, and/or to submit an importer statement, where required. A Buyer’s inability or delay in obtaining an export or import licence or permit, and/or in submitting an importer statement, where required, will not be a legitimate basis for sale cancellation or a delay in payment.
