oval, the lid set with an enamel plaque painted with Cupid struggling to retrieve his arrows from the Graces after Angelica Kauffmann, in a split-pearl frame, on a translucent dark blue enamel ground over radiating engine-turning, decorated with a fine gold paillon vine leaf wreath, the chased outer borders picked out in green, white and translucent red enamel, the sides and base similarly decorated, maker's mark IGR crowned incuse within leaves
