The arms are possibly those of Thompson or Callecote.


This monteith is illustrated in Lee's publication of British monteith bowls where it is noted as being part of the collection of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. The museum received another monteith by Anthony Nelme, 1705-06 in 2001, as a gift or the Alan and Simone Hartman and the Harriet J. Bradbury Fund, and presumably the present monteith was deaccessioned sometime afterward.
