An identical Heming tureen of 1762, possibly the pair to this one but engraved with the Royal Badge, was sold Christie's, London, 13 December 2019, lot 20. Heming was appointed Principal Goldsmith to the new King George III in 1760, and much of his production was directed to the Royal Family, Officers of the Court, and Ambassadors.
