A MEISSEN LARGE BOWL THE PORCELAIN, CIRCA 1745, THE DECORATION LATER


painted with two cartouches of military scenes, one depicting European generals on horseback, the other with a battle scene with Turkish figures on horseback in the foreground and European infantry figures holding a flag bearing the crossed swords mark, each cartouche with gilt scrollwork borders and flanked by scattered shadowed deutsche Blumen, crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue, impressed numeral 20.
