A similar dish of identical measurement, published by René-Yvon Lefebvre d'Argencé in The Hans Popper Collection of Oriental Art, San Francisco, 1973, pl. 95, was included by Eskenazi in their exhibition of Song Ceramics from the Hans Popper Collection, 2005, cat. no. 16.
Another, with traces of a gilt inscription, is illustrated in Mayuyama, Seventy Years, Tokyo, 1976, vol. 1, cat. no. 361. A further example, previously sold by J.J. Lally & Co., New York, is included by Regina Krahl in Chinese Ceramics from the Meiyintang Collection, London, vol. 3(II), 2006, cat. no. 1425, where the author notes, 'It is very unusual to find an undecorated Ding dish; originally, the piece might have been decorated with gilding (compare Sotheby's London, 1st April 1974, lot 175). Dishes made of gold are also known in this shape; a very fine example is in the Meiyintang Collection.'
