with globular squatted body and everted neck, decorated in blue, green, yellow and red with stylised bands of flowers and foliage motifs dotted with red spots, the handle with tricoloured leaf design, a maker's mark forming an arabesque composed of four curved strokes to the underside

Similar jugs without spouts are documented in C.J.F. Dowsett and J. Carswell, Kütahya tiles and pottery from the Armenian cathedral of St. James, Jerusalem, 1972, p.25 & 31, fig.12b, although the present piece does not present carvings.
