This photograph, taken by Cecil Beaton, was printed in 1964, although the image was used in December 1963 by American Vogue. Cecil Beaton won the Academy Award for Best Costume Design and Best Art Direction for this film. There is a perspex window on the reverse of the frame showing the photographer's stamp and Audrey Hepburn Collection sale stamp.


This American musical was written by Alan Jay Lerner and directed by George Cukor. It was an adapted of the famous stage musical, which was based on the 1913 stage play Pygmalion by George Bernard Shaw. The film stars Audrey Hepburn as Eliza Doolittle, and Rex Harrison as Professor Henry Higgins, and features fantastic musical numbers. The film won eight Academy Awards.
