畫者略傳：陳芹，字子野，號橫崖，上元（南京）人，為安南國王後代，永樂年間來中國避亂。嘉靖舉人，六試禮部不第，不久病歸。結青溪社，文酒觴詠知名於時，工畫山水、花草，尤善寫竹。著有《陳子新集》。
