A large German silver-gilt standing cup and cover, Georg Lang, Augsburg, 1615-1620
the cup engraved near rim with an English baron's coat-of-arms and coronet, the foot with faint scratch-engraved name, marked on rim of cup and on foot, the flaring cylindrical cup above vase-form stem with cherub's masks and applied beaded-scroll brackets, on tiered circular foot, the domed cover with figural finial on spool-form socle applied with similar brackets, the cover, cup, and foot repoussé and chased with fruit and foliage within strapwork against a matted ground, the cover with tongue-and-dart border
