The Rolex GMT traces its history back to the mid 1950s when Pam Am Airlines looked to the storied watchmaker for a timepiece pilots can use on long-haul flights to track multiple time zones. Rolex’s solution would revolutionize watchmaking history and design creating the world's first cosmopolitan wristwatch. The launch of the Reference 1675 in 1959 replaced the original Bakelite inserts with studier aluminum bezels, and its unrivaled reputation as a reliable and durable companion made the 1675 one of Rolex’s longest-running references, ceasing production only in 1980.
Accompanied by a matte brown Mark IV dial, marking the fourth generation of dials utilized by Rolex during it's two decade run, the present 1675 is complimented by a stainless steel and gold Jubilee bracelet.
