Gifted to the agent of an England National Team Player

Sotheby's is proud to present this signed England National Team adidas Fevernova ball from 2002. Signed by players from one of the most iconic periods in modern English football, coinciding with the squad that competed at the 2002 FIFA World Cup in Japan and South Korea.

The ball features signatures from squad members including David Beckham, Michael Owen, Wayne Bridge, David Seaman, Emile Heskey, Martin Keown, Danny Mills, Joe Cole, Robbie Fowler, Rio Ferdinand, Sol Campbell, and Ashley Cole.

The signatures have been authenticated by James Spence Authentication.

The ball is inscribed "England Squad Japan 2002".

The 2002 England national team featured one of the most recognizable groups of the early “Golden Generation,” blending established stars with emerging talent who would define the next decade of English football. David Beckham was the team’s focal point and captain, renowned for his passing range, leadership, and set-piece delivery. Michael Owen provided the cutting edge in attack, still in his early peak years following his breakout at Liverpool. In midfield, Paul Scholes offered creativity and intelligent movement, while a younger Steven Gerrard was beginning to establish himself as a dynamic box-to-box presence for club and country. At the back, Rio Ferdinand represented a new standard of ball-playing central defenders, and Ashley Cole was emerging as one of the most exciting young full-backs in Europe.
