The model 1801 was created in 2001 to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the tourbillon mechanism patented on 26 June 1801, or according to the French Republican calendar of the time: 7 Messidor, year IX-A.L, by Abraham-Louis Breguet. The design of the movement follows the specifications from the original patent in every detail. From technical features to aesthetic aspects such as the design of the famous Breguet hands, this rare model preserves the heritage of the most ingenious watchmaker into the 21st Century.
