Unknown Sale, 1972, lot 35 (noted in ink on reverse).


This elegant decoration called bianco sopra bianco was produced widely in Faenza, Le Marche and Umbria for much of the 16th century. However, it is likely that this particularly fine dish was made in Deruta.
