The reference 1675 GMT was introduced in 1959 and stayed in continuous production until 1980, making it one of the longest produced references in Rolex’s history.

 

What makes this example stand out from other GMTs from the period is the presence of its retail stamp, Tiffany & Co, to the dial. Examples such as these, elevated in their rarity by their double signed dials, don’t come to market often.

 

Rolex and Tiffany began their relationship in the late 1950’s. The dials, of course, were printed at Rolex ahead of their sending to Tiffany, but Tiffany themselves added their signature upon arrival at their New York City headquarters. The relationship lasted 25 some-odd years ahead of its dissolution. The last Tiffany-signed Rolexes were sold c. 1992.
