oval, the lid applied with a split-pearl framed enamel plaque representing a departure scene with a sail boat against a sunset in the background, surrounded by a fine rose paillon wreath on a translucent blue enamel ground over wavy sunburst engine-turning, the outer entwined gold border picked out in green enamel, the sides and base similarly decorated with fine paillon swags, roses sprays and birds, maker's mark PG crowned, the rim with later unidentified control marks, further struck: 18K
