Height 13 cm, 5⅛ in.

This small ewer is unusual for the freely carved dragon striding around the exterior. Compare a similarly decorated bowl, sold in our Hong Kong rooms, 29th November 1977, lot 4; another included in the Special Exhibition of Dragon-Motif Porcelain in the National Palace Museum, National Palace Museum, Taipei, 1983, cat. no. 11, together with a bowl of the same shape and size and incised with two dragons around the interior, cat. no. 12; and a third example, sold in our Hong Kong rooms, 8th October 2013, lot 220.
