Oblong folio (16¼ x 12¼ in.; 413 x 312 mm). 120 albumen photographs (from 3¾ x 1¼ in.; 95 x 32 mm, to 11½ x 8½ in.; 286 x 210 mm) mounted on card; occasional and minor toning, foxing and chipping to mounts. Half black morocco over green textured cloth, upper cover gilt lettered, margins decoratively gilt, red morocco label to spine; rebacked, corners renewed.
Lord Curzon’s hunting trip in India and Nepal
This fine album includes images of Curzon and his party, the camp, and photographs of the group on elephants, at a formal meal, various hunting scenes, and the group with tigers, etc. Curzon, who was Viceroy of India (1899 to 1905), created the territory of Eastern Bengal and Assam.
