Deeply captivated by his quest to conquering horological conundra, François-Paul Journe has become renowned for his creations using resonance phenomena to achieve time keeping accuracy. The Chronomètre Souverain inspired by early nineteenth-century marine chronometers, however, remains a lesser known example of his horological achievements.

Building upon this solid and purest chronometric heritage, the present watch features an extra flat movement and its base plate and bridges are crafted in 18k pink gold. The two barrels of the homogeneous movement deliver a highly linear force to the escapement for over fifty-six hours. Combining the most traditional aspects of watchmaking and research and an unexpected look, the Chronomètre Souverain embodies the essence of F.P. Journe.
