ink and colour on paper, hanging scroll
signed Zhao Mengjian, dated the third year of Baoqing (1227) and with one seal
137 x 50 cm, 54 by 19¾ in.
Acquired by Sir James Stewart Lockhart (1858-1937) through Tse Tsan-tai (1872-1938), Hong Kong, 1910, and thence by descent to his daughter, Mary Stewart Lockhart (1894-1985).
Gifted by the above to George Watson's College, Edinburgh, 1967.
