For the arms and an identical tureen, cover and chamfered rectangular platter from the same service, see David Sanctuary Howard, Chinese Armorial Porcelain, Vol. I, London, 1974, p. 576, Q9. The 'A.S.' initials belong to the Hon. Alexander Stewart, 3rd son of the 7th Lord Blantyre.
