Jiaqing Period, Circa 1810

清嘉慶約1810年粉彩紋章圖盤一對

each decorated with the arms of Blair or Buckworth, inscribed with the initials M.B.

length 11 5/8 in.; 29.5 cm

For the arms, see David Sanctuary Howard, Chinese Armorial Porcelain, Vol. II, Chippenham, p. 541, U8. Howard notes that the 'motto' inscribed SOUVENIE D'UN FILS RESPECTUEUX, is not recorded and may be a salutation.
