A nimai-do gusoku [armour]

Edo period, 17th - 18th century 


Kabuto [helmet]: the russet iron bowl with raised ridges terminating in a gilt tehan kanamono, large turnbacks, laced with braid


Mempo [face mask]: chased and engraved with yasurime, detachable nose plate, tiered throat protector


Do [cuirass]: hinged in two pieces. All components laced, sode, kote [shoulder guards and sleeves]


Haidate, sune-ate [thigh protectors and shinguard]: black lacquer haidate with silk brocade, shinguards (shino sune-ate)


Accessories:

accompanied with armour box, Edo period, 18th century, with iron fittings
