A hard-stones inlaid lacquered wood 'flower and bird' cabinet

Qing dynasty, 18th-19th century

superbly inlaid on each door with flowers and birds in a variety of coloured stones, depicting two songbirds on the left door perched on a gnarled branch of fruiting and flowering pomegranate above clusters of lotus, the left door with two other birds perching on camellia and a fruiting peach tree, all within a border of chilong in mother of pearl enclosed in cartouche reserved on a lattice ground, the sides with composite flowers panels, the interior with two shelves and lacquered in red
